FAQs

Do I need to do any reading in preparation for the Summer School conference?

There is no need to do any research before attending the Oxford Summer School at Wycliffe. You are welcome to read Cafe Theology, a popular level systematic theology written by Wycliffe head Michael Lloyd, and Broken Signposts: How Christianity Makes Sense of the World by NT Wright.

Is there a dress code for the week?

There is no dress code but do bring bring one dressy outfit (coat and tie for men, a short dress or dressy pants suit for women) for Thursday’s gala dinner.

What else should I pack?

As British weather is changeable, we would recommend you bring clothes suitable for all weather conditions. Layers are best. Although UK weather is unpredictable, it is rarely extreme. In summer, the average temperature ranges from 48–64F. On occasion, it can reach beyond 85F in a heatwave. Please note that Wycliffe Hall and most British venues do not have AC. It is wise to pack an umbrella or waterproof jacket with hood, and of course, comfortable walking shoes. And remember a 3-pronged plug adapter (different than those in Europe) suitable for the UK.

Can Wycliffe accommodate special dietary and/or accessibility requirements?

Wycliffe can cater for special dietary requirements with advance notice and let us know of any accessibility issues such as walking limitations. Please direct these needs, prior to August 1, to Stephanie at stephanie@friendsofwycliffehall.org
